Questions To Ask Yourself During The Quarantine

We’ve been sheltering-in-place for over a week now. Spending this much time in your home might be prompting you to re-evaluate your home needs. Here are a few questions you can ask yourself:

  • How are you enjoying your current home?
  • With kids being home-schooled and learning online AND parents working from home, does your home feel too crowded or just the right size?
  • Do you need a larger home with a bonus room or a few extra bedrooms?
  • How about a smaller home with less maintenance?

Like many industries, the real estate industry is adapting and figuring out how to make it work during the shelter-in-place order. Appraisers are performing drive-by appraisals, lenders are finding work arounds, and our team has been conducting virtual showings. We are so grateful for technology-we’re seeing it used to its best advantage.

Lots of people are wondering about home sales.  The real estate market is not the stock market. The home market and banking industry are solid.

Before the COVID-19 outbreak,  our local real estate market was thriving and we expect to continue to have a high demand for homes. If you are a seller,  let’s talk about your needs and timing. If you are a buyer,  this is a unique opportunity to buy! Let us help you be in a place of power so you are ready to make the right move once the shelter in place order is lifted.

Stay safe and be well!

Take a look at how our team members have been sheltering-in-place:

DeAnna’s view about to have a video conference call
Liz celebrating gratitude and being a BadAss while working from home
Kim’s pup’s feelings towards the virus
Lisa welcomed a beautiful nephew
Michelle working seriously hard with her guard dog
Lexi and her boyfriend built an igloo
Kevin enjoying working from home
Amanda trying to entertain her littles and work

Is your kitchen stressing you out?

According to Ikea, People Are Pretty Stressed About Their Kitchens

IKEA’s second global Life at Home Report came out today. It’s not as salacious as the first one, which revealed that people in Mumbai have the most morning sex and people in New York do the most work while sitting on the toilet, instead focusing on the kitchen. Specifically, the fact that everyone is very anxious about their kitchens, apparently. For instance, 19 percent of Parisians chose the answer “I would feel uncomfortable or ashamed” when presented with the question, “How would you feel if a friend looked in your kitchen?” (A friend!) And while 38 percent of Berliners residents cook at home during the week, 54 percent never eat in the kitchen or dining room. On the bright side, only 18 percent of them feel bad about the amount of food they throw away each week, the lowest of any of the eight cities surveyed.

Tis the season for outdoor entertaining!

Beautiful Outdoor Kitchen Ideas for Summer

Freshome

Summer is almost here! It’s time for cookouts, BBQ’s and outdoor entertaining.  But outdoor parties can become tedious with all that running back and forth, inside and out with serving dishes and food.

The solution: Outdoor kitchens. They allow us to navigate backyard entertaining without all the fuss, avoiding the running back and forth from indoor stove to outdoor guests.  Here are some must-have outdoor kitchen ideas to help you create your very own outdoor cooking oasis:

Go modern

Outdoor kitchens can match your modern home. In other words, the outdoor kitchen doesn’t have to be ‘kitchy’ and filled with cute Kiss the Cook aprons, rather it can be sleek and modern to match your style.

Outdoor kitchen storage

Just like our indoor kitchens, our outdoor kitchens require ample cupboard space. When designing your outdoor space, make sure to include plenty of cabinets and storage solutions. Stainless steel cabinets are ideal for outdoor kitchens.
